Most colleges are planning to teach in person rather than online in the fall. It would be interesting to know precisely what they think is going to change between now and then. An effective treatment? Better testing? Or just "uh, something?"https://www.chronicle.com/article/Here-s-a-List-of-Colleges-/248626 …

My bet is most Power 5 schools will offer in-person classes to justify operating profit-generating sports, and also offer all the same classes online, and the majority of students will stay home and take classes online.

the college football econ is far more than the institution itself Iowa City (pop. 70k) home of the Hawkeyes, will see $100mil in econ activity generated over the course of 7 home games 130 schools play D1 football, Hawkeyes are only top-third by school enrollment

i'd estimate that about half of major college football programs reside in towns of less than 100k. these places would feel a deep impact from a multi-million dollar econ loss its not just playing the games. the crowds will need to be there

The domino effect of not being able to have college football is endless....It’s a giant crutch for so many schools.

There’s a reason the highest paid employee at a university is generally the college football coach!!

Yeah - all that revenue and they don't have to pay the players. It's an outrage.

Well the fact is that a lot of smaller schools get paid by larger schools which funds the athletic departments of the smaller schools which pays the salaries of smaller school professors. So perverse, I know, but tweet away like athletics does not matter.
