A big source of trolling and divisiveness is the Twitter algo. A hyper aggressive partisan tweet is easily met with engagment via comments and thus propagation by the algorithm

This thread makes me wonder if a simple “dislike” button would do the trick. If a post is generating too much negativity, just don’t promote it. It’s a more simple solution than some kind of nlp based dampening effect. It wouldn’t eliminate echo chambers though.
