      Making a system simpler usually makes it more robust, and sometimes makes it more efficient.

          This is one of those concepts so deep it works across virtually every domain. For example Occam's razor in science and regularization in machine learning. What are the best counterexamples? I would expect some in biology, since everything there is bonkers complicated.

          And yet much of Silicon Valley's recent "innovation" makes systems more complexn inserting rent seeking middlemen. Now the... Biggest media co: produces no content. Biggest transport co: owns no vehicles. Largest food deliverer: owns no kitchens. Is this really "innovation"?
