I've developed a new appreciation for any expert who is willing to say "I don't know."

Experts cease to exist whenever they say "I don't know". There is a categorization problem. E.g. an "economic expert" should not exist in the first place - it's definition of an expert is too broad.

either a) we are asking the wrong people [very specific questions vs broad expertise] or b) the expert may say that "I am not an expert in this particular area"
