I keep telling my son that college isn't what it used to be he has to become a life long learner if he really wants to succeed (it's also a trick I use to get him to stay close, I just love that boy so much)

Agreed, we keep hearing arguments thay seem to come from the assumption that college is both crucial and the unis must be preserved, not from the perspective of students who are now realizibg they may not be getting their money's worth in education.

Yeah, I saw that headline and thought, "there's a distinct lack of emphasis on how good this will be for the students, as opposed to for the colleges." But that seems in keeping with a lot of the rhetoric around higher ed.
