I guess it's all in details. Depends on implementation and enforcement. In general, framework to fight misinformation and Russian style propaganda would be good. In China it is the enforcement method used and power abuse that's wrong, not underlying idea to keep infospace clean.

Speech control is a reality, and we have to deal with it. Identity is a core requirement for online validation, so I contributed identity resolution of many users to the W3C DID spec. The tech is easy. Convincing people that freedom matters is the difficult thing.
