Ah, true. So the 'right' people at the 'right' party, as you say, could be more than difference enough to launch infection rates in one city far beyond those of another, if the party took place during the 'right' place on the timeline.

I have wondered about 'excess deaths'. We assume these show us the 'hidden' COVID-19 deaths. I'm pretty sure they include quite a sizable share of 'regular' deaths that were increased because ppl were scared to go see a doctor and become infected with COVID-19.
