The surprising thing I learned from reading the answers is how much they vary in quality. Some are just wonderful, and others are crushingly pedestrian. Sadly, I doubt this question has much predictive value. There are some fascinating people who make terrible founders.

Not so boring that you'd use that word to describe them, but you could probably drop a few deciles and still find excellent founders.
