That's one reason I'd never switch to Medium. It's convenient, sure, but if you care about ideas, you can't be at the mercy of censors. Especially when the censors are just random corporate employees. What can non-domain experts enforce except groupthink?

This is essentially why I treat Medium as a traffic-acquisition channel rather than a home for my content. I post everything on my own blog and link to it through Medium. In the end, I want to have complete creative freedom.

What's the easiest way to go about it, though? You'd have to at least host your own wordpress? Or program html? Keeping own platform secure? Non-trivial for non-technical authors.
