If it turns out that the coronavirus did escape from a lab in Wuhan, Twitter is going to owe ZeroHedge an apology for automatically flagging every link to their site. In fact they probably already do.pic.twitter.com/BIfpOl3RPP

I'm not talking about the possibility that the virus was created in a lab, but that a naturally occurring virus escaped from the sort of studies mentioned in this article:https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/04/14/state-department-cables-warned-safety-issues-wuhan-lab-studying-bat-coronaviruses/ …

Do you really think this shit helps when thousands of ppl are dying all over the world and scientists are confirming that it comes from animals?

Yes, this is extremely important. That’s good that we know the original hosts of the SARS-CoV-2 virus are bats (but humanity knew the animal origins anyway since at least 2003 with the first virus, SARS-CoV-1). We need to know if poor lab safety OR a wet market was the cause.

This isn't saying it was made in the lab. Could have been. But, it's highly likely the Cyrus m virus escaped from the lab. There's only two theories of where it originated - seafood market or lab. Market is backed by China's word, lab backed by more facts than market is.

I was merely adding a qualification when I retweeted it. The author explained that it was because he worked for the opinion section (which seems weirdly bureaucratic, but not in a way that undermines the credibility of the article).

That article makes multiple very strong statements with no source. Example: “One Beijing researcher, now in jail, made a million dollars selling his monkeys and rats on the live animal market, where they eventually wound up in someone’s stomach.”
