If it turns out that the coronavirus did escape from a lab in Wuhan, Twitter is going to owe ZeroHedge an apology for automatically flagging every link to their site. In fact they probably already do.pic.twitter.com/BIfpOl3RPP

And if it’s not true, you are going to owe Twitter an apology.

No. I'm not claiming either origin story is true. Just that the lab origin is a real possibility, and shouldn't be written off. And that is hardly a controversial position.

And zero hedge said probably, not definitely, which is also not an absolute statement.

"the real reason behind the viral spread is because a weaponized version of the coronavirus (one which may have originally been obtained from Canada), was released by Wuhan's Institute of Virology..." from the story in January. don't see probably in there.

That ZeroHedge story was bullshit. There is no real possibility that the virus is weaponized version of the coronavirus, which might have been obtained from Canada as reported in that January article.

Paul did not say it was weaponized. I don't know how you could prove (or disprove) that it was a weapon even if the scientists ultimately can prove that it was human-made.

Occam's razor says lab leak. Unless otherwise.

The frustrating thing is we'll never know. The chances of an objective investigation into the lab origin are slim.

This is the only true statement. Especially because that lab was partially funded by the US government, and was well regarded by Western researchers. So the PR can be spun both ways. To avoid mutual embarrassment, both sides will make a deal to whitewash the whole fiasco.

do you assign equal possibility to China's claim that the virus originated in the US? If not, why not? Their official media has said it was connected to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019%E2%80%932020_vaping_lung_illness_outbreak … Seems plausible. I'm only asking because it sure would be a shame if a war started because of it.

No less controversial: created in a lab outside China and unleashed (coincidentally) perfectly timed with China's biggest celebrations and travel.
