You can only know the number of minimum deaths. Few countries reported a spike of illness from “other” respiratory deseases, other counties and regions don’t even count, either on purpose for geopolitical reasons or not bothering to waste tests on the dead. We will never know.

Also a lot of "covid negative deaths" are caused by covid cause of the constraints in hospitals and the dramatic changes in society

I'm guessing that's a bad flu season. Maybe 2018 if it aligns with the last bad flu season in the US. If so, then this currently shows the magnitude of a bad flu season. Could get worse.
The NYT had a similar graphic last week for NYC that showed something like 3K deaths beyond the historic baseline that weren’t attributed to Covid. It’s frustrating to feel like even now the magnitude of this goes under appreciated.
