I'm really tired of reading how business owners are "forced" to layoff workers. No one made them do that. They *chose* to do that. Not saying it isn't a hard choice, during a hard time, but to say they were *forced* obscures their agency AND casts owners/CEOs as the victims.

She seems to hate CEOs and business owners so much as a class that she can't tolerate any description of their difficulties that might suggest they aren't getting what she thinks they deserve. To her they're immoral and simply being punished for their bad decisions. Terrible.

Paul, I agree with you, though she might be implying a very wealthy employer, with bazillions, saying (s)he had to fire workers making min wage - where in reality s(he) could have easily paid personally, not via Corp. or I’m giving her too much credit?
