I wish I could get some confirmation of that number, though it could be right

i was having some unpleasant thoughts about nyc regarding that info. thoughts on how elderly citizens will be discovered dead in their apartments, alone, for months to come when this is over.

That's horrible. At least in the US they are actively trying to get the real number imho. In Mexico we saw a huge spike in 'atypical pneumonia' yet the government claims this is normal and not COVID19 related. I must say I have some serious doubts though.

Twitter ruminations... Is that high? Sounds high to us regular folks. If people aren't going to the hospital, how many are heart attack/stroke/etc? Since (if) virus is so easily transmitted, could be positive and still die from above w/o connection to virus being present, right?

Been noticing more ‘pronouncement’ calls from EMS here too. Before it was one every shift or two but recently I’ve had up to 5 during an 8 hour shift.

Does this stat accounts by the expected increase due to everybody being forced to stay home? I would like to see the number of people dying outside home to get the full picture.
