It seems like all the temps are in the cold to nice range, rather than the "it's freaking hot" side, which is what I've seen suggested might have an impact. There can be some pretty major non linearities. But this does updates ones priors to not expect an easy summer...

That's useful analysis - then what stands out in both Italy and Spain (and France) is the high degree of inter-connectedness of those societies - where even if grandparents are in a home, they are visited by all generations of the family many times per week.

Our lives are indoors with ac or heating systems. If we are not outside, we are inside cars or public transportation There's a large cluster of infections in Manaus, Brazilian Amazon like there's in Singapore. People live in those places do not live in the natural environment.
