Don't worry about kids acquiring bad programming habits when they're first learning. The only habit that matters is the habit of programming. Tidiness can come later. Enthusiasm can't.

I'm going to expand on his 'No!' with a 'Hell no!' Anyone who says otherwise is nothing more than a lying gate-keeper. You could be 80 and it wouldn't change my answer. Never too late to learn new things.
