      Don't worry about kids acquiring bad programming habits when they're first learning. The only habit that matters is the habit of programming. Tidiness can come later. Enthusiasm can't.

      If you care about programming, you'll want your programs to be well-designed, and to work well, so you'll naturally evolve toward better habits. And any that you don't evolve toward aren't actually better.
