Don't worry about kids acquiring bad programming habits when they're first learning. The only habit that matters is the habit of programming. Tidiness can come later. Enthusiasm can't.

@paulg what’s the min age would you consider starting them at?
Depends on the kid. I waited till mine asked me to teach them. They have to be able to read well enough. Once past that threshold, if they ask you to teach them, why not?

Yep. Also, kids imitate, so going to experiment with coding simple things in front of my 6yo. Should trigger a question sooner or later.
