Philosophy is often mocked by people in tech. But I like philosophy. Everything of value I've ever done falls squarely under the label "philosophy". Philosophy is potent, actionable, and practical like nothing else.

What's going on here is that there are two senses of "philosophy." The first is: what philosophy professors teach and write about. This is widely mocked, not just in tech. The second is (roughly): the most general truths. These are useful.
So in effect you're switching the meaning of the word "philosophy" in the middle of your tweet. That explains the paradox of people in tech mocking something that is "potent, actionable, and practical like nothing else."

Coincidentally, this kind of word laundering, in which a single word with two meanings is used as a conceptual Trojan horse, is a big failure mode in the academic world of philosophy.

I would need some further clarification to know what you have in mind, but a subject of a lot of the philosophy I’ve studied is that language is only rarely bound to single meanings, and that this “play” inside of language is both expansive and full of risks.

@fchollet, that the value of philosophy and its considerations—even some of the more nitty-gritty stuff—only becomes apparent when it is absent. a noun is branding for an idea. piracy of which confuses listener. Eg: christian, blockchain etc. Making fun of 'philosophy' instead of giving a new name to what professors are doing is lazy and spam to collective human knowledge.
