When teaching kids to program, it's good if you're doing something too, instead of standing over them, so they can experiment (which is an important part of programming). But you can't be doing anything uninterruptible. Sorting Lego is perfect.

Paul what tool did you use to introduce your kids to programming? I’m utilizing Scratch.

Scratch is great and we use it too, but many kids think Logo is actually easier to start.

I accidentally doused my son’s interest in Raspberry Pi by showing him too much enthusiasm and knowledge and my own interest. I kick myself every day. I should’ve stuck with Legos

Yesterday my daughter got an electronics kit from a friend. I brought out some @seeedstudio boxes I have and we played together experimenting with potentiometers and LDRs. We need more boxes to acceptably sort her Legos

How many hours per week do you sort Lego? I’m around 2-2.5 but my kids are younger than yours.

A Cameroonian NGO @AfritechHub aims to teach teenagers computer science with very limited resources. Lego are within their means. Do you recommend anything else ?

Are you implying the legos were not sorted in the first place? 😱
