Man that's terrifying. Especially because if we were to do everything right these same people would look back and say, "See, I told you so, it wasn't such a big deal, not worth shutting things down, etc., etc."

I also keep thinking how crazy it is that the thing that could save our country from the worst outcome isn't the President's understanding of any of this but the fact that he enjoys given his daily presser so much, which presumably would go away if he lifted restriction advice...

I think it is being lazy (to learn something new) and bias (to confirm that it is not a problem). These people are plenty intelligent even if they do not know something by default.
