They're going to need someone to build stuff. It's better if the builder is a cofounder, but not the end of the world if not. Bezos's first builder Shel Kaphan was not a cofounder.

I didn’t apply (yet, maybe) to @ycombinator specifically because I thought a lack of a technical cofounder would be seen as a scale risk/demerit. I am doing the rest, market fit/research, sales, product design, pitching, marketing, so. Here I am.
