"Despite urging from public health experts, some states and counties haven’t shut down completely. In some states, beaches are still open; in others, restaurants still serve sit-down meals," Gates wrote.https://thehill.com/policy/technology/490523-bill-gates-calls-for-nationwide-shutdown-shutdown-anywhere-means-shutdown …

I think the lockdown will continue till government bodies realize the US has to operate like Taiwan or Singapore or South Korea, and figure out how to. Otherwise the epidemic will just restart as soon as the lockdown ends.

Spreading out the disease over time saves lives. Have a stroke or hit by a car while the hospitals are overflowing with covid patients? Have to deal with that at home. Flattening the curve ensures people continue to have care when they need it

On a state level, people who don't have significant symptoms have no idea *if* they should be tested or *how* to be tested. They just know they still need food/supplies and are trying to stay home as much as they can. No direction being given.

Depends on the locality. Here in central Florida we have been receiving clear and explicit directions regarding testing. Direction on most everything else is hapless and murky.

That would mean basically ignoring the constitution. You saw how hard Cuomo fought back against Trump wanting to shut down NY and NJ calling it war on the states and claiming it's illegal. Even emergency powers doesn't give Trump much power as they aren't in the constitution.

They have the luck to do things that don't scale. Countries with huge population do not have that luxury.
