Not to be the Trump defender here, but the world was woefully under-prepared for this. It's easy to take one prediction (pandemic is certain) and mash it with another political prediction. The federal gov and intl' orgs could have done far more for strategic reserves.

We should have been preparing for this for the last few decades. Trump inherited a bad situation. What he's done since January is absolutely on him, but the lack of strategic reserves isn't something that was caused two years priors.

And for those Trump supporters who say their functions were transferred into a different group, tell me what that group did to (1) drive urgency for testing top-down when we really needed it in Feb, and (2) coordinate the medical supply chain so states aren't in bidding war.
