In your favorite programming language, how do you sort a list of the strings "a", "bcd", "ef", and "ghij" in descending order of length?

In Bel this example would be (sort (of > len) '("a" "bcd" "ef" "ghij")) and a function to do it for any list of strings would be [sort (of > len) _]

Just reading the Bel docs now and it's giving me a similar feeling to when I first read the ZMQ docs. very buddha. Also I'm noticing there might be some overlap between thinking in Lisp & thinking in shaders (GLSL)

It’s a beautiful thing. Hoping an enterprising developer implements Bel soon. Would love to take it for a spin.

You should really check out the Scala collections library. They are Scala's killer app. Apache Spark is the Scala collections scaled up at massive levels. And almost all mega streaming is based in Scala on these collections; Spark, Netflix, Fortnite, etc.

clojure, with 'of' stolen from bel: (defn of [f g] (fn [& args] (apply f (map g args)))) (sort (of > count) '("a" "bcd" "ef" "ghij"))
