And that is the problem. With that said, when facing novel pathogens, we should always assume human-to-human contagion unless proven otherwise. To err on the side of caution is just an expense. But to err on the side of wishful thinking? That, in cases like this, is fatal.

This made a multi-billion dollar problem a multi-trillion dollar problem. We're at 5 deaths and 306 confirmed cases in Taiwan. Almost all of the cases have been imported, but it looks like we're getting closer and closer to community spread.
