Arguably it's not fair to expect journalists to understand all the topics they write about. They'd have to be polymaths to do that. But cases like this should remind us that they don't.

The Atlantic article on the top left was excellent and one of the first to go viral and get people worried. The author (an MD) also wrote other excellent and very early articles on mask shortages, for example. I criticize media blindspots too but better when it’s fair.
Yes, I remember that article and I liked it. I agree it doesn't belong in this set of headlines (which I didn't collect).
