The "techlash" never really existed. It consisted of a few journalists, politicians, and people on the far left pretending it was a widespread phenomenon, but polls of the general public consistently showed this wasn't the case.

Yes, there is obviously a huge distrust of the media and other institutions. But in saying there's no techlash in the general public, you're ignoring this sizable decline in tech industry favorability in the general public in just a few years.pic.twitter.com/UfBTkDqYyd

And yet even with the decline, tech cos come second only to churches in public opinion. A decline from first to second place (if tech cos even were first before) wouldn't even be worth mentioning, if one didn't have another agenda
