yeah all the graphs i see are linear until i look at the y axis... (not everyone take the effort to look at the y axis)
Linear scale graphs are harder to read, but they are at least appropriately terrifying.

Then there's the issue of most people having no idea what a log scale even is. Covid-19 charts for general consumption should be designed accordingly.
