If you're a programmer and there's a piece of software you feel inclined to build to help you and your friends coordinate anything or communicate in some way while you're all stuck at home, that's probably a valid startup idea.

Paul - I've been impressed with your thinking on this. Very creative and rational. What do you think about using the USPS and basically trying to convert it to a public health service? Both in terms of spreading messaging, guidelines, and also perhaps testing (down the road)?

The USPS does not easily coexist in my head with the concepts of flexibility or speed, both of which would be needed in this case.

Well then combine it with Fedex, Amazon, UPS. We easily have this reach.

Yes. But they deliver the mail every day. If we could have a federal policy guideline on what individuals should do they could easily deliver it. Lots of people (especially elderly) read the mail, even the pamphlets. And agree with the comment on Amazon...

I'm just trying to think where we already have massive infrastructure and logistics in place that could be used for delivery of information and potentially health care.

If you show USPS path to profit from the concept I guarantee they will very seriously consider it. I can make introductions. They need revenue. Badly. And they know the power of their network. In the age of digital they are the last network that touches everyone reliably.
