But are we flattening the curve yet? We mostly assume dramatic announcements of cancellations and unexpected measures must loom large but their cumulative effect is not additive. We need to push the ball over the line now because we won't see results until it is too late

I mean, just back-of-the-envelope, if we’re 6x bigger than Italy that gives us about another 2.5 doubling-times, right? so at current rates maybe another 6 days? That is not comforting.
