Surely drawing attention to large public health issues using coronavirus as a referent is a good idea. In addition to the more obvious learnings, I'd be happy for "car accidents, HIV, and malaria are huge and neglected issues" to be one of our takeaways from this experience.

Are they as neglected as our societal preparation for epidemics? Road safety and HIV treatment, in particular, are better than ever and both of those issues could end in our lifetime.
