What's a company that, in your opinion, will become the next Craigslist in a sense that it will be unbundled & many billion dollar companies will emerge as a result? For example, some people say this about LinkedIn. I think Twitter is an interesting dark horse candidate here.

Interesting. Can you sketch it out?

to P&G, making the best product is secondary to mastering the process of buying TV ads + buying shelf space. As more people just buy off Amazon, it seems possible to focus on a single P&G product and make a better one

Confession: I misread your initial tweet as being about PG&E. But this is very interesting all the same.

We need a GitHub for marketing. That will peel off from LI. Marketing is so subjective it needs its own space for debate and discussion.

@paulg @lacker which product categories of P&G could be unbundled? Dollar shave club took 10% market share with razors and then there has been an influx of D2C brands. Any open spaces you think are worth exploring?

hahaha. it would have been a lot more interesting if I had had a plausible answer for PG&E! but it’s hard to imagine power generation breaking into many different verticals, unless it’s hyper local for some reason.

It could be PG&E. The infrastructure costs to make energy are enormous. But energy is cheap if you can eliminate that factor. The unbundling would be a move from centralized to decentralized with a company or product that allowed individuals or small groups to produce power.
