All YC employees worked from home by default the whole time I was running YC, except one (the building manager). Partners only went into the office when we needed to do a block of office hours with startups.

What advantages do you think there are for an in-person office pur as opposed to online ones? (Like in startup school)

You can communicate better in person, and that matters because at office hours with a startup you have to talk fairly intensely about a lot of subtle topics.
