For 20 yrs, there weren't clear alternatives. Thanks to tech, education has reached an inflection point. In the next 5 years, people will wake up to opportunity cost of spending 4 years and $100k vs 2 years $40k for a degree online.

I actually think many universities will try to adapt by offering lifetime learning opportunities. If you earned a liberal arts degree on campus, get a stem degree online and viceversa. Two degrees for the price of one. MOOC’s for alumni. They need to add more value per dollar

Colleges are also having problems because all the population growth is happening in the south (from Arizona to Florida) and northwest, while all the schools are clustered inconveniently in the northeast.
