Impressive, but traveling at 2x speed of commercial airliners has “been there done that” with the Concorde. Unless the tickets can be competitive with commercial airliners 1st class, Why is this just not technology looking for a solution?

Concorde had two major problems: massive fuel burn, and a supersonic boom that meant it had to travel subsonic over land. I think they're trying to solve those two issues.
