the problem with our government ‘forgiving’ student loans is not only that many struggled for years to pay their debt off, and expecting them to now pay off someone else’s debt is unfair. it’s that colleges should be held accountable for this.

Well to be fair, it was the student loan lenders lobby that sneaked in the last minute provision which made it nearly impossible to discharge student loans (not discussed by congress and Clinton signed it). Effectively lenders entrenched themselves as rent seekers. It’s sad
