You can express doubt in op-eds. They don't have to be the type where you pick a position and defend it. You can just explore ideas and see where they lead.

It seems to be uncommon. And my feeling is that increasingly circulation/clicks/etc. mean those op eds are less welcome. I could be off in my perception, though. (Would love pointers to venues that routinely run counter!)
