The part “If you write a bad sentence, you don’t publish it” is very contrary to a lot of the advice I’ve heard about content creation, largely summed up here https://alcalde.texasexes.org/2012/08/quantity-over-quality-why-you-shouldnt-pay-workers-to-be-creative/ …. Would definitely need to keep the pursuit for perfection in rational check.

The context I heard the advice in was a content creator deciding how much to put out every day. After a lot of debate he chose three videos per for this reason. Almost every day one video gets a few million views and another gets a 10-50k. People forget about the low performers.

What do you think of this way of reading your essays? https://gist.github.com/marcospgp/2d1eec502548e8a8f0a42e0999f3bdae … Would you consider writing them in this format if there was a platform for it?

It is inspiring to see how you apply deliberate practice for writing better.

That's exactly why I still have 100+ drafts pending on http://ashishb.net . I wrote those, felt they weren't that useful and never published.

Re:novelty, often getting novel insight from an essay does not lead to any longterm change. Even true novel non-abstract personal insights patients receive from psychiatrists seldom lead to change. “Modeling” reader “state” and possible “insight integration” paths might help?
-
As a rough analogy in car navigation, best route may be “novelty”, but goal is “change”=driver action. Navigator could do well to model driver’s previous “state” to decide how best to lead driver to this “change”, adapting to the driver instead of an “unerring” forced command.

Re:misrepresentations, given novelty of insight, it’s trivial “defences” may not be as obvious to reader as to author, here again maybe modeling possible “state” and listing most promising attack vectors and defence might help move reader along the “change” path. Useful=changing?
