Idea derived from a suggestion by @lisperati: what if there was an upper bound on the amount of code in a product, so that if you wanted to add code, you'd have to delete some too?

These types of upper bounds kind of exist already. When deploying to cloud services there is an size, time & $ cost upper bounds on deploying large containerized applications that cloud providers often provide due to unnecessary third party packages often causing bloat builds.

Taking your joke seriously, I've always been ambivalent about function size limits. I think in the end certain types of functions are fine if they're really big (mainly ones that perform a simple but bulky declarative action, such as building JSON)
