Conversely, the worst thing you can do is say something controversial in one tweet, and then put the qualifying statement in the succeeding one. To the mob it will be as if the qualification never happened.

I honestly don’t understand why anyone fears the sort of mob you mention. If it’s something I stand by I couldn’t care less what some niche online group of randos have to say.

Easier said than done. I never been there, but I would never want to be quote tweeted by a blue-check six figure number followers person. It can be psycholoically maddening and sometimes career threatening.
