Venture debt is like a delicious sandwich that only costs ten cents, but occasionally explodes in your face. If I were running a startup, I don't think I'd ever take it.

is there investment thesis as a top up on a funding round? Too much equity and limited debt available in the venture world Difficult to underwrite debt since you don’t get upside, where venture is all about the upside. There’s also the question of step in rights
