I love it when people tell me a startup idea that goes against most current trends.

okay, get this. it's like a webstore, but instead of existing on the web, it has an actual physical location, and you go there and they physically give you your stuff. that way you know the delivery time precisely because the delivery kinda works in reverse.

I'm not sure if you meant this as a joke or not, but there might actually be something to the idea of reinventing the retail store using the web as a model. Evolution often takes that form.

Could you elaborate more on this? Are you proposing that you have a web store built in such a way to drive traffic to a brick 'n mortar store consistently? Just trying to wrap my head around what you're proposing.

So, it's a retail store, but you own none of the inventory. Instead you charge the manufacturer for storage and stocking until you sell the product, in which case you take a very thin margin.

you shouldn't diss snark as a discovery mechanism. there is no doubt that many great businesses started as jokes.

Reminds me of Amazon’s recent brick-and-mortar bookstores whose inventory and product groupings are algorithmically arranged according to online shopping behaviors. You can also complete all your transactions on your phone instead of with a cashier.
