Every time I get an email saying "just bumping this up in your inbox," it reminds me of the huge startup that's missing.

This is what Google's inbox was before they killed it. It worked amazingly well as my combined email/Todo list and I was at inbox zero on a regular basis.

Gmail now does this

I like that model. Kind of like calendly, but todo. We do this internally with shared docs, but could be appified.

Tried wunderlist and similar, but none good enough to stick.

I used to laugh at
@BillGates idea of paid email but I would love it now. Basically you can set a price, e.g., 300 dollars, 50 cent, etc. Then anyone can send you a message, if you like the message you don't charge them. If it's spam, you get the moneyThanks. ha, I envision a similar thing for some time now: a hybrid between 2D trello-like layout, formulas like in Excel, and email threads like in Google Inbox (including both sent and received msgs, with chat-like UX).
-
formulas would enable creation of ad hoc functionality, like todo-lists (with completion progress %%), charts, widgets, rich embeds etc.
