Is there a non-renewing subscription in any category? Netflix, Spotify, gyms, grocery delivery, dating apps. Recurring revenue is the business model.
-
People will tolerate auto-renewing subscriptions on Netflix because they have to. What newspapers don't get is that they're not Netflix. They're one show on Netflix.

So what's stopping YC to support us? We are here...and we are excited to smoothen this process. We understand that you might think of it as a niche/small problem...but it's not! We are in talks with publishers including WSJ...it takes time, but YC's support could be invaluable

I'd pay for so many articles at £1/article with Apple Pay or similar. I've probably just clicked on the link that someone I respect has shared, so it's low risk & I'm motivated. No idea if that model could work but I'd spend a lot more than I do right now (£0) on news if it were!
