To never try to change adult people. It's a waste of time
One exception is encouraging them to be more confident. That can be done, and often with dramatic results.

Hard to fit in a tweet, but here are a couple. Get very specific about the first step. Show them how much they've already accomplished. Explain how afraid now-established people felt when they were in the same position. Give them permission to do things that don't scale.
