Have you seen CGP Gray's "The Better Boarding Methods Airlines Won't Use"? http://youtu.be/oAHbLRjF0vo This may or may not be consistent with your position. Maybe the airlines only listen to the VIP customers? But in any case, boarding methods are far from optimal.
