Is there an easy way to build, or a startup that offers, something that will email you once a day asking "What's happening?" and then accumulate the replies? We once funded a startup that did this, and it left a hole in my life when it shut down.

Was it ohmylife? I was using it and still I check my daily replies to remember old days.

Google Photos is what came to mind, but its "what you were doing 1/2/3 Year ago today" etc. - but still provides a very good experience - mainly because its photos I guess.

Nope photos don’t feel same with words. Words are aging, photos are getting old.

Ah I used this and highly enjoyed it. Have an archive off all my entries. Eventually switched to org-mode in emacs

Daily diary is very similar and actually imports OhLife content too. I use their paid version specifically to get the random answers from the past :)

Google forms/emails require more work/scripting to get this past reply thing. Btw, the need to get the mail out of the inbox is definitely a huge motivator to fill it. Fully agree :)

http://dabble.me  is a good OhLife replacement, and can import your OhLife backup too.

@einaregilsson built a clone of #OhLife that i've been using here: https://github.com/einaregilsson/MyLife … You host it yourself using google's appcloud.
