They might be admired in theory but one would be hard pressed to see many examples of them in action among the right wing political cartel running America, whereas the profit motive is ubiquitous.
I don't think it's capitalism that has done this, because there was plenty of capitalism in e.g. the 1940s. And indeed I think these virtues are still admired on the political right. It's on the the left that they've been superseded by a new set that takes priority.

Yes exactly, crowding out. I think this is where the second biggest cost of pooitical correctness is, after reducing creativity and error-correction, which is crowding out valuable norms like telling the truth, being concise, being civil, with ones enforcing pc language
