What has your work taught you that other people don't realize?

Most people should build cash flowing businesses they own 100% of rather than trying to create a venture backed billion dollar company
That is something I've learned from my work too. Or the second half at least.

We need a word to describe these businesses. Lifestyle business makes people think lazy/part time/hobby etc....and venture backed sums up the others. What do we call a profitable business that a founder cares deeply about/throws off $500k/doesn’t ever miss dinner with his family?

Lol on these dad hoodies. Sending one to my brother and these are going to become my go to gift for friends having babies. Safe to assume it’s a cash flowing business?

Is it that you’ve observed people who created billion dollar companies didn’t “set out to create a billion dollar company”, and the outcome was merely a side effect? Or have you observed most people are better suited building non-venture-backed businesses? (Or both?)

What I meant is simply that most people are not suited to starting a startup.
